The Early Days - 2016-2020
It started as an idea. A gamble. A dare to see if it could be done. In mid 2016 the idea of Shield Pro Wrestling came to life and hit accelerate! Within a short few months with the sponsorship of local North East Companies and a tonne of hard work from friends, family and peers the Almost Pro Wrestling School was established followed quickly by Live events. Our debut show was held on the 28th September 2016 inside of what we call “The historic, Chuter Ede Community Centre”! Chuter Ede was our home for 4 years and collaborator to each evolution of Shield and the production we were able to deliver to our fans and for that we still say thank you to Jason and all of the staff and volunteers that helped make it all happen! The way we were able to grow made us feel unstoppable. We had the opportunity to work along side former and future WWE/TNA Superstars. Dreaming bigger and bigger until our progress came to a screeching halt along with the whole world as the Pandemic took everything away.
And now...
The pandemic finally ended and allowed the world to rebuild. Unfortunately for us we would return to the news that the “Historic Chuter Ede Community Centre” was also scheduled for demolition. Multiple attempts to get back on our feet fell flat HOWEVER our team pulled together once again alongside family, friends and peers to find a new place to call home for the Almost Pro Wrestling School in Bilton Hall Community Trust! Starting from scratch means the only way is up! We restructured. We set new goals and developed a new game plan with two weekly training session and Live Events across the North East!
